Artist Statement

I am an artist who transitioned from film to photography. Compared to the structure and rhythm of filmmaking, I find the freedom of photography more appealing—the kind of freedom that allows me to capture moments guided purely by intuition, without being bound by narrative. For me, photography is a way of recording emotions; it reflects my inner state and current mood. The “landscapes” and “objects” that appear in my images often serve as projections of my own feelings.

My work currently moves in two main directions: one focuses on natural landscapes such as the sea, forests, and deserts; the other explores the theme of BDSM, which may involve figures or be expressed solely through objects. When photographing nature, my images often carry a sense of silence and solitude. I am more drawn to capturing the strength within these scenes rather than their romance.

I work with both digital and film photography, choosing intuitively between them. I have not intentionally developed a fixed style, but I move fluidly between black-and-white, landscape, and still-life photography, searching for my own visual language. Through photography, I aim to record both the grandeur and the subtlety of the world while exploring the meaning of my own existence. I do not expect my work to carry grand ideals—if my photographs can offer viewers a brief moment of calm, that is enough for me.
